Job Overview & Context

At Just Better Care Bundaberg, Registered Nurses act as the clinical backbone of the operation, guiding support teams, ensuring care standards are upheld, and ensuring every client receives the right care delivered the right way. This role offers the opportunity to perform nursing outside of a hospital environment, combining clinical responsibilities with leadership, coordination, and real community impact. Flexible options are available for either part-time hours for work-life balance or a full-time role with opportunities to grow into clinical leadership.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Clinical oversight: monitoring client wellbeing, reviewing care plans, and maintaining communication with GPs and allied health professionals.
  • Team mentoring: coaching and upskilling Community Support Professionals and Enrolled Nurses, and conducting skills assessments for complex care delivery.
  • Documentation and compliance: ensuring all care records are accurate, timely, and compliant with legislative and professional standards.
  • Quality improvement: applying continuous improvement principles and contributing to best-practice service delivery across the team.
  • Stakeholder coordination: collaborating closely with Care Partners, allied health, and medical practitioners to ensure seamlessly connected care.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (essential).
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence and a reliable, insured vehicle (essential).
  • Proof of working rights in Australia.
  • COVID-19 vaccination (where required under state health orders).
  • Experience supervising staff or working in a clinical leadership capacity (highly regarded).
  • Background in community, aged care, or disability services (preferred).

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence and organization to work independently across client homes in the Bundaberg region.
  • Ability to lead and support a team of support workers.
  • Proficiency in keeping meticulous records using digital care platforms.
  • Problem-solving capabilities on the go with sound judgement on when to escalate issues.
