Job Overview & Context

As a Clinical Nurse – School Based Youth Health Nurse, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the health, wellbeing and resilience of young people. From providing trusted guidance to helping shape health promotion initiatives across schools, you’ll work collaboratively with students, educators and community partners to create positive outcomes that last well beyond the classroom.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Delivering confidential health support that helps students access the right information, care pathways and services.
  • Leading proactive health and wellbeing initiatives that build awareness, resilience and health literacy across school communities.
  • Partnering with educators, families and community services to strengthen coordinated support for young people.
  • Using evidence-informed practice to identify opportunities, improve outcomes and respond to emerging youth health needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Strong youth health, assessment and care planning skills within a primary health care setting.
  • Postgraduate study relevant to clinical practice and/or experience working with young people in community, school or rural health settings is highly regarded.
