Superintend train shunting movements, reach stacker container lifting, and refrigerated rail wagon servicing at a transcontinental rail terminal.

SCT Logistics is recruiting a Senior Intermodal Rail Terminal Superintendent to lead operations at our major Forrestfield terminal in Perth. You will manage the receipt, shunting, loading, and departure of transcontinental rail freight services connecting Western Australia with Melbourne and Adelaide.

As a key member of the team at SCT Logistics in Perth, WA, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Direct 24/7: Direct 24/7 rail terminal shunting operations, track wagon placings, and train consist assembly.
• Supervise heavy: Supervise heavy reach stackers and forklift container loading adhering to wagon weight limits.
• Oversee power: Oversee power monitoring and temperature logs for refrigerated shipping containers aboard trains.
• Ensure strict: Ensure strict compliance with ONRSR rail safety standards, track occupancy rules, and terminal safety zones.
• Lead and: Lead and coach terminal shunt teams, gantry operators, and administrative freight controllers.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at SCT Logistics, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Degree in Transport Logistics or extensive Rail Intermodal Terminal Management.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 5+ years operational leadership experience within an intermodal rail freight terminal or port container park.
• Thorough understanding of rail shunting procedures, track safety, and wagon brake-test inspections.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain high productivity while enforcing uncompromising safety standards.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to pass Category 1 Rail Safety Medical.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$140,000 – AU$170,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Remuneration $140,000 – $170,000 + 11.5% super + performance bonus + company vehicle.
