Direct rapid evening cross-dock freight sortation, interstate B-double linehaul departures, and freight damage reduction.

Border Express is seeking an experienced Senior Cross-Dock Operations & Interstate Linehaul Manager to command the afternoon/evening freight operation at our Chullora freight terminal in Sydney. You will oversee rapid freight transit from local pickup trucks into interstate linehaul trailers departing for Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide.

As a key member of the team at Border Express in Sydney, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Command high-volume: Command high-volume evening cross-dock sortation operations, freight cubic measurement, and forklift safety.
• Ensure timely: Ensure timely dispatch of scheduled interstate B-double and road train linehaul runs.
• Monitor freight: Monitor freight scan compliance and electronic manifest integrity to eliminate misdirected parcels.
• Enforce strict: Enforce strict load restraint guidelines compliant with the NTC Load Restraint Guide.
• Manage terminal: Manage terminal operational labor budgets, agency staffing, and driver turnaround times.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Border Express, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Transport Logistics, Business, or Operations.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 5+ years management experience in high-volume palletized express freight or cross-dock transport terminals.
• In-depth mastery of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) Chain of Responsibility regulations.
• Proven leadership skills commanding frontline transport dock crews under time-critical deadlines.
• Strong commitment to safety culture and zero-harm principles.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$130,000 – AU$160,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Remuneration $130,000 – $160,000 + 11.5% super + company car allowance.
