The Enterprise Data Warehouse team in Sydney manages foundational data feeds supporting regulatory compliance, financial reporting, and customer insights. As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Ab Initio, you will design, develop, and optimize high-throughput batch and continuous ETL graphs processing mission-critical banking transactions with complete reliability.

Core Responsibilities & Technical Scope

In this position at Commonwealth Bank, your operational deliverables and core performance objectives include:

• Ab Initio Graph Development: Design, code, test, and maintain complex Ab Initio ETL graphs (Continuous Flows, GDE, Co>Operating System) for enterprise data ingestion.
• Data Warehouse Optimization: Tune data extraction, transformation, and loading pipelines interfacing with Teradata, Oracle, and modern cloud datastores.
• Automation & Shell Scripting: Develop Unix/Linux shell scripts and automated job scheduling configurations (Control-M) for production workflows.
• Data Integrity & Testing: Perform rigorous unit testing, reconciliation verification, and data quality checks ensuring compliance with APRA regulatory requirements.

Selection Criteria & Candidate Profile

• Academic Qualifications: Not formally mandated. Proven commercial mastery of Ab Initio ETL development in large enterprise settings is required.
• Ab Initio Expertise: In-depth technical experience with Ab Initio Co>Operating System, GDE, Conduct>It, and Continuous Flows.
• SQL & Scripting: Strong SQL capabilities and proficiency in Unix/Linux shell scripting.
