Ovolo Hotels is recruiting an energetic Hotel Financial Controller based at Ovolo South Yarra in Melbourne. You will manage financial governance, monthly management accounts, audit compliance, and owner financial reporting across our design hotels and plant-based restaurants in Victoria.

As a key member of the team at Ovolo Hotels Australia in Melbourne, VIC, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Prepare monthly: Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in accordance with USALI standards.
• Oversee hotel: Oversee hotel income auditing, night audit reconciliations, and accounts receivable collections.
• Monitor hospitality: Monitor hospitality Modern Award compliance (HIGA) and payroll integrity.
• Provide commercial: Provide commercial financial insights to Hotel General Managers to optimize departmental GOP margins.
• Manage statutory: Manage statutory BAS returns, fringe benefits tax (FBT), and annual external audit processes.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Ovolo Hotels Australia, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Commerce / Accounting & CA / CPA Qualified.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Bachelor of Commerce or Accounting with CA or CPA qualification.
• 5+ years financial management experience within the hospitality or hotel sector.
• Deep mastery of USALI guidelines, SunSystems, and hotel PMS interfaces.
• Dynamic commercial acumen and team leadership skills.

At Ovolo Hotels Australia, we understand that our people drive our achievements. An outstanding remuneration and wellbeing package is provided in line with Australian benchmarks:

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$135,000 – AU$165,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $135,000 – $165,000 + 11.5% super + performance bonus.
