Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is appointing a Senior Medical Scientist in Bowen Hills to supervise high-volume automated biochemistry analyzers.

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Scientist to join our high-volume Central Biochemistry Laboratory in Bowen Hills. You will oversee automated chemistry and immunoassay analyzers, troubleshoot analytical deviations, and validate critical patient results.

As a key member of the team at Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology in Brisbane, QLD, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Supervise daily: Supervise daily analytical workflows across Roche Cobas and Abbott automated chemistry lines.
• Evaluate internal: Evaluate internal quality control (IQC) data and investigate analytical drift or calibration issues.
• Validate and: Validate and release complex biochemical and endocrine test results to referring physicians.
• Maintain NATA: Maintain NATA ISO 15189 accreditation compliance and author standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (AIMS Accredited).
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent degree eligible for AIMS Professional Membership.
• Minimum 5 years diagnostic laboratory experience in clinical biochemistry.
• Expert understanding of automated laboratory instrumentation and NATA standards.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$95,000 – AU$115,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Remuneration $95,000 – $115,000 + 11.5% super + shift allowances.

• Leave Entitlements: 4 weeks annual leave (with 17.5% annual leave loading where applicable) plus 10 days paid personal/carer’s leave.
