Lead immersive clinical simulation learning, undergraduate nursing pedagogy, and translational health education research.

The Sydney School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Sydney is recruiting a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Nursing & Simulation Education. Based in the architectural Susan Wakil Health Building, you will integrate high-fidelity clinical simulation, virtual patients, and experiential learning into the Master of Nursing and Bachelor of Nursing programs.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Coordinate and: Coordinate and teach clinical nursing units utilizing high-fidelity mannequins and simulated hospital wards.
• Integrate clinical: Integrate clinical reasoning and patient safety competencies conforming to ANMAC accreditation standards.
• Conduct scholarship: Conduct scholarship and research in clinical simulation learning, student outcomes, and interprofessional healthcare.
• Supervise higher: Supervise higher degree research (HDR) master’s and doctoral students.
• Liaise with: Liaise with Local Health Districts (SLHD, NSLHD) on clinical placement integration.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at University of Sydney, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: PhD in Nursing or Healthcare & Current Unrestricted AHPRA Nursing Registration.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Doctoral degree (PhD) in Nursing, Health Education, or related health science.
• Current unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrated experience designing high-fidelity clinical healthcare simulation scenarios.
• Track record of peer-reviewed healthcare publications and successful competitive grant applications.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$138,000 – AU$165,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Academic Level C salary $138,000 – $165,000 + 17% employer superannuation contribution.
