Mantel Group is seeking a skilled AI / MLOps Infrastructure Engineer to join our remote cloud and cybersecurity team across Australia.

You will work with enterprise environments, applying national cybersecurity guidelines (including Essential Eight and APRA CPS 234) to protect vital infrastructure and scale cloud services securely.

As a key member of the team at Mantel Group in Remote – Australia, All Australia, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Build and: Build and operate specialized ML inference clusters, model registries, and automated retraining pipelines in production.
• Implement and: Implement and maintain declarative infrastructure using GitOps and modern automated pipelines.
• Participate in: Participate in virtual incident triage, blameless reviews, and continuous security enhancement sprints.
• Provide subject: Provide subject matter expertise to engineering squads on cloud security, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Document architectural: Document architectural standards, runbooks, and disaster recovery procedures.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Mantel Group, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Cyber Security, Computer Systems or Equivalent Experience.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Demonstrated professional experience in MLOps and Kubeflow.
• Strong understanding of Australian cybersecurity principles, cloud governance, and modern compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective asynchronous remote collaboration.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, OSCP, CISM, or CISA) regarded favorably.
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency required for client environment security clearances.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$170,000 – AU$205,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Lucrative Australian salary package ($170,000 – $205,000 AUD) + 11.5% superannuation.
