We’re seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our finance team in our Sydney head office, supporting our Clients & Markets division. Reporting to the Head of Finance Services & Treasury, you’ll be the link between head office finance and Clients & Markets, shaping the numbers behind how we pursue, price and win work across Australia. You’ll sit within finance but operate as part of the Clients & Markets team, providing advice, challenge and advocacy on financial matters. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity.

Core Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

In this role at Laing O’Rourke, your key responsibilities and deliverables will include:

• Partner with Clients & Markets leaders, providing advice and challenge
• Prepare and analyse monthly forecasts, budgets and performance reporting
• Track performance against budget, flagging risks and opportunities early
• Deliver financial insight that supports bids, pipeline and work winning
• Translate financial data into clear advice for non-finance stakeholders
• Sharpen reporting, forecasting and budgeting using better data and tools

Selection Criteria & Candidate Profile

Laing O’Rourke evaluates applicants against demonstrated technical capabilities and experience aligned with this role:

• Tertiary qualification in commerce, economics or a related numerical discipline; CA or CPA preferred but not essential
• 5+ years’ experience in a financial or commercial role, with strong analytical capability and proven business partnering
• Strong numerical and modelling skills with good attention to detail
• Stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders
• Commercial and financial analysis experience, with strong critical thinking and problem solving
• Able to manage and deliver multiple assignments of varying priority and difficulty, working effectively under tight deadlines and pressure
