Laing O’Rourke is seeking a talented and safety-conscious AI Engineering Manager to join their project team in Dartford delivering critical civil and building infrastructure. Key Responsibilities & Operational Scope
- Deliver precision engineering setting-out, dimensional control, and technical supervision for reinforced concrete, steelwork, and civil works.
- Review and interpret structural blueprints, specifications, method statements (RAMS), and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Manage site quality records, concrete cube registers, pre-pour inspection checklists, and technical queries (RFIs).
- Supervise site supervisors, subcontractors, and plant operatives to maintain rigorous safety, environmental, and program targets.
- Support construction methodology planning, temporary works coordination, and progressive engineering handover.
Candidate Profile & Required Qualifications
- Proven experience leading AI engineering or machine learning teams in complex environments
- Strong hands-on understanding of ML, AI engineering, and model deployment practices
- Experience delivering AI solutions into production at scale
- Strong understanding of data platforms, cloud technologies, and integration patterns
- Ability to translate business problems into AI-enabled solutions
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience with MLOps platforms and automation
- Experience operating in organisations undergoing data or digital transformation
