Laing O’Rourke is seeking a talented and safety-conscious Quantity Surveyor – East Suffolk to join their project team in Saxmundham supporting the landmark Great Grid project. Key Responsibilities & Operational Scope
- Supporting quantity surveying and commercial activities across allocated work packages.
- Supporting measurement, valuation and agreement of works.
- Preparing and managing interim applications and payment certifications.
- Assisting with drafting, managing and closing out subcontracts.
- Supporting monthly cost reporting and commercial forecasting.
- Assisting with claims, final accounts and commercial negotiations.
- Identifying, pricing and managing change control.
- Supporting project teams with contractual obligations, commercial risks and opportunities.
- Producing contract reviews, BPR information and management reports.
- Supporting project budget establishment and ongoing cost management.
Candidate Profile & Required Qualifications
- Degree (or higher) in Quantity Surveying; RICS membership desirable but not essential.
- Working knowledge and practical application of NEC contracts.
- Experience within direct delivery, construction, civil engineering or infrastructure environments, ideally across the project lifecycle.
- Strong analytical, commercial and organisational skills, with a willingness to learn and progress within the Commercial function.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related construction discipline.
