The Sydney Nursing School at the University of Sydney is hiring a Senior Clinical Nurse Educator to lead immersive clinical skills and high-fidelity simulation training. Based in the architectural Susan Wakil Health Building, you will design clinical scenarios, operate advanced robotic patient manikins, evaluate Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), and prepare students for hospital ward clinical placements.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Design and: Design and facilitate immersive clinical simulation learning scenarios covering emergency care, ICU, and acute medical-surgical nursing.
• Teach and: Teach and assess advanced clinical competencies (cannulation, ECG rhythm analysis, medication administration, rapid escalation).
• Coordinate Objective: Coordinate Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) ensuring rigorous assessment integrity.
• Integrate evidence-based: Integrate evidence-based clinical guidelines, patient safety principles, and reflective debriefing methodologies.
• Liaise with: Liaise with local health district teaching hospitals (RPA, Westmead) to align clinical curriculum with hospital practice.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at University of Sydney, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Master of Nursing / Clinical Education + Current Unrestricted AHPRA Registered Nurse registration.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Master’s degree in Nursing, Clinical Education, or tertiary teaching qualifications.
• At least 5 years of acute hospital clinical experience, with demonstrated experience in clinical facilitation or simulation education.
• Inspiring pedagogical presence, active listening, and passionate commitment to student success.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$130,000 – AU$155,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $130,000 – $155,000 + 17% superannuation contributions.
