Aurizon is hiring a Rail Track & Signaling Civil Infrastructure Maintenance Manager based in Townsville, Queensland. You will direct track infrastructure maintenance across hundreds of kilometers of regional rail corridors, managing track work gangs, mechanized tamping and lining machinery, turnout renewals, and flood resilience works to ensure safe heavy haul train transits.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Lead maintenance: Lead maintenance execution for heavy haul rail track, bridges, culverts, and level crossings.
• Analyze track: Analyze track geometry data from automated Track Recording Cars (TRC) to schedule priority tamping and re-sleepering.
• Manage rail: Manage rail flaw ultrasonic testing, rail grinding campaigns, and thermite welding quality control.
• Direct track: Direct track possession closures, emergency response during monsoonal track washouts, and rapid track reopening.
• Ensure full: Ensure full adherence to Rail Safety National Law (RSNL) and ONRSR safety accreditation standards.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Aurizon, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Degree in Civil Engineering or extensive railway track maintenance leadership.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 7+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 7+ years of railway track engineering or civil rail infrastructure maintenance experience.
• Deep understanding of track geometry parameters, rail metallurgy, and mechanized track maintenance machinery.
• Proven leadership managing frontline track maintenance crews and contractor plant.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or extensive practical railway infrastructure credentials.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$150,000 – AU$180,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
