DHL Express Australia is seeking a Licensed Customs Broker / Senior Customs Clearance Specialist to join our Sydney International Gateway team in Mascot. You will manage electronic customs declarations in the Integrated Cargo System (ICS), classify complex goods under the Australian Harmonized Tariff, apply Free Trade Agreement (FTA) origin rules, and resolve biosecurity quarantine holds for rapid delivery.

As a key member of the team at DHL Express Australia in Sydney, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Prepare and: Prepare and lodge compliant Import/Export Declarations (N10/SAC) via the Integrated Cargo System (ICS).
• Determine correct: Determine correct Harmonized System (HS) tariff classifications, valuation rules, and customs duty concessions.
• Liaise with: Liaise with Australian Border Force (ABF) and Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) biosecurity officers.
• Advise corporate: Advise corporate express clients on customs compliance, dumping duties, and Free Trade Agreement documentation.
• Maintain audit-ready: Maintain audit-ready compliance records and manage post-clearance duty refund applications.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at DHL Express Australia, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Australian Customs Broker License (Department of Home Affairs accredited) + Biosecurity accreditation.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Current Australian Customs Broker License issued by the Department of Home Affairs (mandatory).
• Current DAFF / Biosecurity Continued Professional Development (CPD) accreditation.
• 5+ years of customs brokerage experience in international air or ocean freight forwarding.
• In-depth knowledge of the Customs Act 1901, Biosecurity Act 2015, and international trade compliance.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$125,000 – AU$150,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $125,000 – $150,000 + annual bonus + superannuation.
