Medibank is seeking a Senior Healthcare Financial Analyst to join our Clinical Financing & Analytics team in Melbourne. You will deliver high-impact commercial analytics that track hospital benefit payouts, medical device prostheses costs, and member claims inflation, ensuring affordable health insurance products while funding top-quality patient clinical outcomes.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Build dynamic: Build dynamic financial forecasting models evaluating hospital contract utilization and clinical benefits expense.
• Analyze complex: Analyze complex healthcare claims datasets using advanced SQL and build executive dashboards in Power BI.
• Partner with: Partner with hospital contracting executives to model financial terms for multi-year private hospital network agreements.
• Evaluate financial: Evaluate financial viability of innovative in-home care models, short-stay surgery pathways, and preventative health programs.
• Deliver variance: Deliver variance analysis and monthly financial reports to the Executive Leadership Team.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Medibank Private, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or Economics (CPA/CA preferred).
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 5+ years of commercial financial analysis experience, preferably within healthcare, insurance, or pharmaceuticals.
• Advanced financial modeling proficiency in Excel and solid SQL scripting skills.
• Demonstrated experience translating complex healthcare data into actionable strategic insights.
• CA, CPA, or CFA qualifications are highly regarded.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$125,000 – AU$150,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
