Design and maintain high-speed national optical backbones, multi-cloud interconnects (Direct Connect, ExpressRoute), and data centre fabrics at Interactive.

Interactive is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our Core Network Engineering team in Sydney. You will manage high-capacity BGP routing tables, EVPN-VXLAN data centre fabrics (Arista/Cisco), and multi-cloud interconnect gateways linking our data centres directly into AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Architect and: Architect and optimize high-throughput multi-carrier BGP routing policies and internet peering fabrics.
• Deploy and: Deploy and support EVPN-VXLAN spine-leaf network topologies across national data centre facilities.
• Configure and: Configure and maintain dedicated cloud interconnect circuits (AWS DirectConnect, Azure ExpressRoute).
• Automate network: Automate network provisioning and device configuration backups utilizing Python, Netmiko, and Ansible.
• Lead technical: Lead technical troubleshooting during critical backbone network events to minimize client latency and jitter.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Interactive Pty Ltd, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Degree in Computer Systems, Telecommunications or certifications (CCNP Enterprise, JNCIP).
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise or service provider network engineering.
• Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and EVPN-VXLAN protocols.
• Hands-on expertise configuring Arista EOS and Cisco Nexus / Catalyst switching platforms.
• Cisco CCNP Enterprise, Cisco CCIE (written), or Juniper JNCIP certification preferred.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$145,000 – AU$175,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Package $145,000 – $175,000 + on-call allowances + superannuation.
