Telstra Purple is seeking a Cloud Security Architect to join our Brisbane Cyber Consulting team. You will lead the design and implementation of comprehensive cloud security architectures, Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), identity boundaries, and container security controls for major banking, mining, and government clients.

As a key member of the team at Telstra Purple in Brisbane, QLD, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Design zero-trust: Design zero-trust cloud security reference architectures across multi-cloud enterprise footprints (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Deploy and: Deploy and configure Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Cloud Workload Protection (CWPP) tools (Prisma Cloud, Wiz).
• Define cloud: Define cloud IAM governance, least-privilege policies, and privileged access management (PAM) solutions.
• Perform cloud: Perform cloud security architecture reviews and threat modeling for new client cloud initiatives.
• Ensure compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards including APRA CPS 234, ISO 27001, and Essential Eight.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Telstra Purple, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or certifications (CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, CISSP).
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 6+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 6+ years in cybersecurity with at least 3 years dedicated to cloud security architecture and governance.
• Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), AWS Certified Security – Specialty, or CISSP.
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure automation, CI/CD security scanning, and container security.
• Outstanding consulting and client-facing stakeholder management skills.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$165,000 – AU$195,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Competitive remuneration ($165,000 – $195,000) + superannuation + performance bonuses.
