Architect high-performance, cloud-native 5G mobile core network platforms and network function virtualization (NFV) infrastructure for TPG Telecom.

TPG Telecom is hiring a Telco Cloud Network Architect to lead the evolution of our next-generation 5G standalone (SA) mobile core and edge cloud infrastructure. You will design cloud-native telco platforms (CNFs/VNFs) running on bare-metal Kubernetes and OpenStack clusters, optimizing latency, reliability, and automated network slicing.

As a key member of the team at TPG Telecom in Sydney, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Define technical: Define technical architectural blueprints for cloud-native 5G Core network functions (UPF, AMF, SMF).
• Design high-performance: Design high-performance bare-metal Kubernetes infrastructure optimized for SR-IOV, DPDK, and hugepages.
• Collaborate with: Collaborate with leading network equipment providers (Nokia, Ericsson) to integrate telecommunications workloads.
• Establish automated: Establish automated zero-touch provisioning and lifecycle orchestration frameworks for telco edge deployments.
• Ensure telco: Ensure telco cloud architectures meet stringent 99.999% availability and national security compliance standards.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at TPG Telecom, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Master’s or Bachelor’s in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Systems or equivalent experience.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 8+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 8+ years of technical experience in telecommunications network engineering and cloud infrastructure architecture.
• Deep expertise in 3GPP standards, 5G Core architecture, and Network Function Virtualization (NFV).
• Hands-on architectural mastery of Kubernetes, Linux kernel networking, and SDN fabrics.
• Proven ability to articulate architectural strategy to C-suite executives and regulatory authorities.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$180,000 – AU$220,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
