Grant Thornton Australia is recruiting a Senior Manager to join our Financial Advisory & Restructuring practice in Melbourne. You will lead formal voluntary administrations, receiverships, creditor compromises, and informal Safe Harbour advisory to rescue viable enterprises and maximize recoveries for secured financiers.

As a key member of the team at Grant Thornton Australia in Melbourne, VIC, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Lead day-to-day: Lead day-to-day statutory operations of trading voluntary administrations and receiverships.
• Conduct urgent: Conduct urgent cash-flow triage, trading budgets, and asset preservation strategies.
• Investigate voidable: Investigate voidable transactions, unfair preferences, and insolvent trading under the Corporations Act.
• Author comprehensive: Author comprehensive Reports to Creditors (Section 75-225) and Deeds of Company Arrangement (DOCA).
• Advise company: Advise company boards under Safe Harbour provisions regarding debt restructuring.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Grant Thornton Australia, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Commerce / Accounting & CA ANZ / ARITA Advanced Certification.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting, or Law.
• CA ANZ or CPA qualified.
• Completed or enrolled in the ARITA Advanced Certification in Insolvency.
• 5+ years restructuring and corporate recovery experience in Australia.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$145,000 – AU$180,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Competitive salary $145,000 – $180,000 + 11.5% super.
