Lead mandatory climate disclosures, greenhouse gas emissions accounting, and AASB S1/S2 compliance for listed clients.

EY Australia’s Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) group in Sydney is looking for a Senior ESG & Sustainability Reporting Accountant. You will support ASX 100 clients navigating mandatory climate reporting under Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (AASB S1 & S2), greenhouse gas emissions auditing, and TCFD disclosures.

As a key member of the team at EY Australia in Sydney, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Develop climate-related: Develop climate-related financial disclosures compliant with AASB S2 and ISSB standards.
• Calculate and: Calculate and verify corporate Scope 1, Scope 2, and upstream/downstream Scope 3 emissions under the GHG Protocol.
• Perform ESG: Perform ESG materiality assessments and readiness audits for limited/reasonable assurance engagements.
• Evaluate physical: Evaluate physical and transition climate scenario risks using financial materiality frameworks.
• Deliver training: Deliver training workshops for CFOs and audit committees on evolving non-financial reporting regulations.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at EY Australia, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Commerce / Accounting & CA / CPA & ISSB / GRI Training.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or Environmental Economics.
• CA ANZ or CPA qualified.
• 4+ years experience in sustainability reporting, ESG advisory, or financial audit.
• Deep familiarity with GHG Protocol, TCFD, CSRD, and emerging AASB standards.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$140,000 – AU$175,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
