St John of God Subiaco Hospital is hiring a Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist to lead symptom management and compassionate end-of-life care.

St John of God Subiaco Hospital is seeking a compassionate Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care. You will provide specialized palliative consultation across oncology, general surgical, and inpatient wards, managing complex symptom distress and providing family counseling.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Deliver advanced: Deliver advanced clinical assessments and personalized symptom management plans for palliative patients.
• Titrate complex: Titrate complex subcutaneous infusion pumps (syringe drivers) for pain and nausea control.
• Facilitate thoughtful: Facilitate thoughtful advance care planning conversations with patients, families, and treating physicians.
• Conduct educational: Conduct educational seminars on compassionate end-of-life care for ward nursing staff.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at St John of God Health Care, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing & Postgrad Qualification in Palliative Care.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Current unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 5 years clinical experience with dedicated palliative care or oncology background.
• Postgraduate qualification in Palliative Care, Oncology, or Advanced Clinical Nursing.
• High emotional intelligence, resilience, and communication sensitivity.

At St John of God Health Care, we understand that our people drive our achievements. An outstanding remuneration and wellbeing package is provided in line with Australian benchmarks:

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$105,000 – AU$122,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $105,000 – $122,000 + 11.5% super + full not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900.
