Join Royal Hobart Hospital as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse delivering specialized care to post-operative joint replacement and fracture patients.

Tasmanian Health Service is recruiting an enthusiastic Endorsed Enrolled Nurse (EEN) for the Orthopedic and Musculoskeletal Ward at the Royal Hobart Hospital. You will provide compassionate, high-quality bedside nursing care to patients recovering from total hip/knee replacements and spinal procedures.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Administer scheduled: Administer scheduled oral and parenteral medications in accordance with AHPRA endorsement.
• Manage orthopedic: Manage orthopedic wound dressings, surgical drains, and neurovascular limb observations.
• Assist patients: Assist patients with post-surgical early mobilization in partnership with physiotherapists.
• Document patient: Document patient vital signs and recovery milestones within the electronic health record.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Royal Hobart Hospital, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Diploma of Nursing & Medication Endorsement.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 1-3 Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse with approved Medication Endorsement.
• Minimum 12 months post-registration clinical experience in surgical or orthopedic care.
• Sound clinical knowledge of patient safety and pressure injury prevention standards.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$69,000 – AU$79,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $69,000 – $79,000 + 11.5% superannuation + shift penalty rates.
