Telstra is hiring a Principal Cloud Solutions Architect in Melbourne to design multi-cloud infrastructure and digital telecommunications platforms.

Telstra Enterprise Cloud practice is seeking a Principal Cloud Solutions Architect to lead enterprise-grade architecture for mission-critical systems.

As a key member of the team at Telstra in Melbourne, VIC, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Define strategic: Define strategic enterprise architecture blueprints for AWS and Azure multi-cloud deployments.
• Design highly: Design highly available, disaster-resilient cloud networking architectures.
• Establish automated: Establish automated infrastructure deployment standards using Terraform and GitOps.
• Enforce strict: Enforce strict cybersecurity compliance (ISO 27001, ISM, Essential Eight) across all cloud architectures.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Telstra, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 8+ years designing and implementing enterprise cloud solutions.
• Active AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Deep expertise in infrastructure as code (Terraform) and container ecosystems (EKS/AKS).

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$175,000 – AU$215,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Executive base salary of $175,000 – $215,000 + annual incentive bonus + super.
