Ensure 99.99% availability and hyper-scale resilience for SafetyCulture’s global operations platform across multi-region cloud infrastructure.

SafetyCulture is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join our infrastructure team in Surry Hills. You will champion production reliability, automate infrastructure provisioning, eliminate operational toil, and build real-time observability across hundreds of microservices processing millions of workplace safety audits daily.

As a key member of the team at SafetyCulture in Sydney, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Manage and: Manage and scale multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters running on Amazon Web Services (AWS EKS).
• Codify all: Codify all cloud infrastructure using Terraform, GitOps (ArgoCD), and Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Design and: Design and maintain telemetry pipelines (metrics, traces, logs) utilizing Datadog, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
• Conduct blameless: Conduct blameless post-incident reviews (post-mortems) and implement preventative architectural safeguards.
• Partner with: Partner with software engineering squads to define Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Error Budgets.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at SafetyCulture, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 5+ years in SRE, DevOps, or systems engineering roles supporting 24/7 web platforms.
• Hands-on mastery of Kubernetes container orchestration and Terraform automation.
• Competency in programming or scripting (Go, Python, or Bash) for platform automation.
• Deep knowledge of Linux networking, TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, and cloud security postures.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$160,000 – AU$190,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $160,000 – $190,000 + employee stock option plan (ESOP).
