As a key member of the team at Xero Australia in Remote – Australia, All Australia, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Design frictionless: Design frictionless onboarding funnels, viral referral mechanics, and high-converting product activation flows.
• Champion modern: Champion modern testing, code reviews, and continuous delivery across distributed squads.
• Collaborate asynchronously: Collaborate asynchronously with product managers, UX designers, and stakeholders using Slack, Jira, and Loom.
• Optimize latency,: Optimize latency, reliability, and security of production services deployed across public cloud environments.
• Mentor teammates: Mentor teammates and contribute to architectural RFCs and engineering standards.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Xero Australia, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Equivalent.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Demonstrated professional experience in Product Design and Figma.
• Proven track record delivering reliable software in modern cloud or distributed environments.
• Strong written communication skills and comfort with asynchronous, documentation-first workflows.
• Relevant tertiary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Valid Australian work rights (Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Full Work Visa).

At Xero Australia, we understand that our people drive our achievements. An outstanding remuneration and wellbeing package is provided in line with Australian benchmarks:

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$140,000 – AU$170,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Competitive Australian salary package ($140,000 – $170,000 AUD) + 11.5% superannuation.
