SafetyCulture is seeking an iOS Systems Software Engineer to join our mobile team in Surry Hills. You will tackle complex offline data synchronization, hardware peripheral integrations (Bluetooth sensors, thermal cameras), and fluid animations in Swift and SwiftUI for our industry-leading iAuditor platform.

As a key member of the team at SafetyCulture in Sydney, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Build native: Build native iOS features utilizing Swift, SwiftUI, and modern concurrency (async/await).
• Architect resilient: Architect resilient offline-first data persistence and delta-sync engines using SQLite / CoreData.
• Integrate camera: Integrate camera capture, barcode scanning, and external IoT sensor hardware.
• Optimize app: Optimize app memory footprints, battery consumption, and crash-free session rates.
• Collaborate with: Collaborate with Android and backend engineers to define unified data contracts.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at SafetyCulture, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Tertiary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or published App Store portfolio.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 4+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 4+ years of professional native iOS app development in Swift.
• Solid experience implementing complex offline caching and data reconciliation patterns.
• Proficiency in SwiftUI, Combine, and modern Apple architectural paradigms.
• Passion for building rugged, accessible software that withstands demanding physical work environments.

At SafetyCulture, we understand that our people drive our achievements. An outstanding remuneration and wellbeing package is provided in line with Australian benchmarks:

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$140,000 – AU$170,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $140,000 – $170,000 + company equity grants.
