SafetyCulture is hiring a Senior Mobile Engineer in Surry Hills to build offline-first inspection tools used by frontline workers.

SafetyCulture is looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer (iOS or Android specialist) to join our Surry Hills engineering hub, building offline-first mobile features.

As a key member of the team at SafetyCulture in Sydney, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Build responsive: Build responsive native mobile interfaces using Kotlin/Compose or Swift/SwiftUI.
• Architect robust: Architect robust offline-first synchronization mechanisms handling background uploads.
• Optimize mobile: Optimize mobile app battery efficiency, memory allocation, and launch times.
• Write clean,: Write clean, testable modular code covered by automated unit and UI tests.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at SafetyCulture, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Computer Science or Equivalent.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 5+ years of native mobile development experience with Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android.
• Solid understanding of modern mobile design patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
• Experience building apps with robust offline data persistence.

At SafetyCulture, we understand that our people drive our achievements. An outstanding remuneration and wellbeing package is provided in line with Australian benchmarks:

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$155,000 – AU$195,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary package of $155,000 – $195,000 + SafetyCulture equity options + super.
