Key Responsibilities & Operational Scope
- Design, build, and maintain the highly available platform services and environments that power our API externalisation layer.
- Execute and drive operate at the intersection of robust backend engineering and modern DevOps practices to ensure our third-party integrations are seamless, secure, and resilient.
Candidate Profile & Required Qualifications
- Hands-on and proven expertise with Java 21+, including deep knowledge of modern language features and performance-oriented coding practices.
- Experience in designing and implementing microservices using Spring Boot with a focus on scalability, observability, and cloud readiness.
- Practical experience working on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or an equivalent public cloud (AWS, Azure), including deploying, monitoring, and optimising distributed applications.
- Proficiency with relational and cloud-native distributed databases, with the ability to model, query, and tune data stores for high-throughput, low-latency systems.
- Experience building event-driven services using Google Pub/Sub or comparable messaging technologies.
- A strong testing mindset spanning unit, integration, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and environment configuration management, ensuring robust, reliable, and repeatable delivery workflows.
- Experience supporting production environments, including incident analysis, service reliability, monitoring, alerting, and improving system resilience.
- A strong willingness to learn and continuously explore emerging technologies, tools, and platform innovations.
