Macquarie Group is hiring a Data Platform Engineer in Martin Place to build high-throughput real-time financial streaming data lakes.

Macquarie Group’s Corporate Operations Group is looking for an experienced Data Platform Engineer to design and scale enterprise data architecture.

As a key member of the team at Macquarie Group in Sydney, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Design and: Design and build resilient ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake, dbt, Apache Spark, and Python.
• Implement low-latency: Implement low-latency streaming ingestion pipelines using Apache Kafka and AWS Kinesis.
• Design dimensional: Design dimensional and Data Vault data models optimized for complex analytical queries.
• Automate data: Automate data quality validation tests and anomaly detection.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Macquarie Group, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Engineering.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 3-5 Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform design.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and distributed compute frameworks (Spark).
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake or Databricks) and dbt.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$150,000 – AU$190,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Competitive salary $150,000 – $190,000 + profit-share annual bonus + super.
