Role Overview & Position Context
Commonwealth Bank (CBA) is seeking an experienced finance professional to join our Brisbane division as a Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist – APRA & ASIC Standards. In this pivotal position, you will drive analytical excellence, sound fiduciary stewardship, and innovative financial governance across the Australian wealth and banking ecosystem. Oversee statutory regulatory obligations, Prudential Standards compliance, and corporate governance frameworks.
Package: $182,000 – $220,000 + 11.5% Super

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Coordinate regulatory correspondence, mandatory submissions, and data filings with APRA and ASIC.
- Conduct enterprise-wide operational resilience gap assessments against CPS 230 guidelines.
- Lead thematic compliance reviews across retail banking, mortgages, and consumer credit.
- Advise business units on product design and distribution obligations (DDO compliance).
- Prepare executive risk summaries and regulatory posture dashboards for the Board Risk Committee.

Required Qualifications & Background
- Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Actuarial Studies, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional accreditations highly regarded (CFA, CA/CPA, FIAA, or FINSIA fellowship).
- Demonstrated professional track record within Tier 1 Australian banks, institutional asset managers, or professional advisory firms.
- In-depth understanding of the Australian regulatory environment (APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC) and relevant corporate standards.
- Full unrestricted working rights in Australia.
