Key Responsibilities & Operational Scope

• Guide the technical execution and delivery of projects and strategic initiatives across the Wealth Platform.
• Execute and drive own delivery outcomes end-to-end, from architecture and design decisions through to production deployment and operational reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to product managers and business analysts, you will shape priorities, manage dependencies and risks, and ensure the delivery of scalable, high-performing and maintainable solutions.
• Lead and steer technical design decisions and remain hands-on with coding for critical platform components and proof of concepts, while driving engineering excellence across the team.
• Execute and drive take ownership of platform reliability, including key risk indicators (KRIs), service level objectives (SLOs), incident management and root cause analysis.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, regular feedback and knowledge sharing, helping develop capability across the team.
• Additionally act as a trusted technical voice with stakeholders and participate in the team's on-call rotation as a senior escalation point.

Candidate Profile & Required Qualifications

• Experience designing, building and delivering Java-based cloud applications, with deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot and relational databases.
• Hands-on experience building cloud-native solutions and distributed systems using modern engineering practices.
• Experience using AI-assisted and agentic development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI or similar.
• Understanding of microservices and service-oriented architectures, with the ability to design scalable and resilient solutions.
• Ability to deliver high-performing, maintainable and well-architected systems in complex environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across engineering, product and business teams.
• A proactive and collaborative mindset, with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
• Experience mentoring and developing engineers through coaching, feedback and knowledge sharing.
• Knowledge of modern engineering technologies and practices, including cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP), containers, APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, event streaming, TDD, Continuous Delivery and Site Reliability Engineering.
• Understanding of security, privacy, regulatory requirements and technology lifecycle management, with experience in Banking and Financial Services being highly regarded.
