Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

As the Corporate Finance Analyst – Valuations at PwC Deals, your primary operational responsibilities and strategic deliverables will include:

  • Strategic Execution: Prepare accurate financial statements, management reporting packs, and statutory financial documentation in accordance with AASB standards.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Analyze financial variances, key performance metrics, and cash flow trends to provide actionable commercial recommendations.
  • Quality & Standards: Manage month-end and year-end ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and fixed asset registers with precision.
  • Process Optimization: Coordinate regulatory compliance and lodgements with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), ASIC, and regulatory authorities.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Collaborate with external auditors, providing transparent supporting workpapers and addressing audit inquiries.
  • Continuous Improvement: Optimize internal financial controls, risk governance policies, and automated ERP accounting workflows.
  • Team Leadership & Support: Partner with executive leadership and department heads to support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting.

Candidate Skills, Experience & Qualifications

To succeed in this role and make an immediate impact within our team, we are seeking candidates who possess the following background, qualifications, and personal attributes:

  • Formal Qualifications: Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline from a recognized Australian university.
  • Industry Experience: CPA, CA ANZ, or IPA qualification (completed or actively progressing toward membership).
  • Technical Competence: Proven experience in commercial accounting, public practice, or corporate financial analysis in Australia.
  • Certifications & Compliance: Advanced proficiency with enterprise ERP platforms (SAP, NetSuite, Xero, MYOB) and advanced financial modeling in Excel.
  • Problem Solving & Adaptability: Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail, and integrity when managing sensitive commercial data.
  • Interpersonal Excellence: Clear communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial data to non-financial operational managers.
