Jacobs is recruiting a Senior Environmental Scientist to join our Contaminated Land Management team in Brisbane. You will provide strategic advisory and technical leadership on industrial site investigations, soil remediation, and groundwater contamination assessments adhering to the National Environment Protection Measure (NEPM).

As a key member of the team at Jacobs Australia in Brisbane, QLD, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Design and: Design and manage Phase 1 Preliminary Site Investigations (PSI) and Phase 2 Detailed Site Investigations (DSI).
• Oversee soil: Oversee soil vapour, soil, and groundwater monitoring programs including emerging contaminants (PFAS).
• Develop Remediation: Develop Remediation Action Plans (RAP) and Environmental Management Plans (EMP).
• Liaise with: Liaise with Queensland Department of Environment, Science and Innovation (DESI) and Suitably Qualified Persons (SQP).
• Prepare detailed: Prepare detailed technical reports and financial proposals for state infrastructure tenders.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Jacobs Australia, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Environmental Science, Geoscience, or Environmental Engineering.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science, Geology, or Environmental Engineering).
• 5+ years consulting experience in contaminated land assessment within Australia.
• Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) or working toward certification.
• Valid manual driver licence and clean driving record.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$125,000 – AU$155,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $125,000 – $155,000 + 11.5% super.
