Stantec’s building engineering group in Melbourne is recruiting a Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer. In this technical leadership role, you will be responsible for complex heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems for major hospital redevelopments, laboratories, and pharmaceutical cleanroom facilities.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Design specialized: Design specialized HVAC systems including isolation rooms, operating theaters, and sterile cleanrooms.
• Perform cooling/heating: Perform cooling/heating thermal load calculations and airflow modeling using Camel and ACADS-BSG.
• Ensure compliance: Ensure compliance with AS 1668, AS 4187, and Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) guidelines.
• Review equipment: Review equipment selections, chillers, AHUs, and HEPA filtration configurations.
• Conduct site: Conduct site inspections and oversee commissioning, balancing, and acoustic testing.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Stantec Australia, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering & CPEng / Registered Professional Engineer.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
• 6+ years experience in mechanical building services with proven healthcare/cleanroom delivery.
• Registered on the National Engineering Register (NER) or Chartered CPEng.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Building Codes and Australian Standards.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$140,000 – AU$175,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Attractive remuneration package $140,000 – $175,000 + 11.5% super.
