Prepare competitive first-principles tenders and cost models for major highway, subdivision, and civil works across WA.

BMD Group’s Perth team is expanding its civil infrastructure bid department. As a Senior Civil Estimator, you will compile detailed first-principles estimates for Main Roads WA highways, mining access corridors, and large land development packages.

As a key member of the team at BMD Group in Perth, WA, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Generate accurate: Generate accurate first-principles cost estimates using Expert Estimation and Benchmark software.
• Interpret engineering: Interpret engineering drawings, geotechnical reports, and specifications to scope quantities.
• Solicit, benchmark,: Solicit, benchmark, and evaluate material, plant hire, and subcontractor proposals.
• Prepare formal: Prepare formal tender submission documents and participate in post-tender client presentations.
• Conduct handover: Conduct handover sessions to winning project delivery teams outlining risk contingencies.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at BMD Group, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 3-5 Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction.
• 5+ years estimating experience within the Australian civil construction sector.
• Demonstrated mastery of first-principles earthworks, drainage, and road pavements estimating.
• Advanced capability in Expert Estimation (Genesis) or CostX.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$135,000 – AU$165,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $135,000 – $165,000 + super + performance-linked annual bonus.
