Optus is recruiting a Cyber SOC Tier-3 Lead in Macquarie Park to oversee advanced incident escalation and automated detection engineering.

Optus Enterprise Cybersecurity is recruiting a Cyber SOC Tier-3 Lead to direct advanced threat detection and incident triage at our Optus Centre headquarters in Macquarie Park. You will oversee Tier-1 and Tier-2 analysts, build SOAR automation, and coordinate complex security incident escalations.

As a key member of the team at Optus in Sydney, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Lead 24/7: Lead 24/7 SOC Tier-3 escalations, conducting deep-dive investigation into sophisticated intrusions.
• Author and: Author and calibrate complex detection rules in Splunk Enterprise Security and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Build automated: Build automated incident containment workflows using Palo Alto Cortex XSOAR.
• Mentor and: Mentor and coach SOC junior analysts in investigative tradecraft and threat detection.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Optus, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Cybersecurity or GIAC GCDA / GCFA Certified.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 5+ years experience in a Security Operations Center with at least 2 years in Tier-3 or Lead capacity.
• Industry accreditations such as GIAC GCDA, GCIH, or CISSP.
• Deep proficiency in SIEM query languages (SPL, KQL) and SOAR automation.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$155,000 – AU$190,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $155,000 – $190,000 + annual corporate incentive + super.
