Employment Hero is appointing a Lead Frontend Engineer in Sydney to direct our Vue 3 and TypeScript web application architecture.

Employment Hero is seeking a passionate Lead Frontend Engineer to guide our frontend engineering practice in Sydney. You will lead architectural decisions for our flagship HR & Payroll web suite, spearheading our Vue 3, TypeScript, and microfrontend component design system.

As a key member of the team at Employment Hero in Sydney, NSW, you will play a central role in driving excellence, upholding top-tier Australian industry standards, and contributing directly to the strategic milestones of one of the nation’s premier employers.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Lead frontend: Lead frontend architecture and migration strategies to Vue 3 (Composition API) and TypeScript.
• Drive the: Drive the enterprise design system component library, ensuring accessibility and visual consistency.
• Optimize web: Optimize web application performance, bundle size, and render performance.
• Mentor frontend: Mentor frontend engineers, conduct code reviews, and establish frontend best practices.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Employment Hero, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Computer Science or Equivalent.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 5+ Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• 7+ years commercial frontend web development experience with Vue.js or React.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, modern CSS architectures, and microfrontends.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities guiding engineering pods in fast-growing SaaS startups.

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$160,000 – AU$195,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Remuneration $160,000 – $195,000 + employee share options + super.
