Lifeblood is hiring a Donor Care Registered Nurse in Melbourne to collect vital plasma, platelets, and whole blood donations from generous donors.

Australian Red Cross Lifeblood has an opening for a passionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the 360 Collins Street Donor Centre in Melbourne. You will conduct confidential donor health screenings, perform expert venepuncture, and operate automated apheresis blood collection machines.

Key Duties & Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, your operational duties and key performance responsibilities will encompass:

• Conduct pre-donation: Conduct pre-donation donor health assessments and hemoglobin screenings.
• Perform expert: Perform expert large-gauge needle venepunctures and operate automated plasma apheresis machines.
• Monitor donors: Monitor donors during and post-collection, managing vasovagal reactions promptly.
• Maintain strict: Maintain strict GMP and TGA regulatory documentation standards for therapeutic blood products.

Required Qualifications, Licenses & Experience

To be successful in this position at Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, candidates are expected to satisfy the following essential selection criteria:

• Mandatory Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing & AHPRA Registration.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 2-5 Years of verified industry experience in Australia or recognized overseas equivalence.
• Current unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrated proficiency in venepuncture and cannulation.
• Warm, welcoming interpersonal communication and donor customer service skills.

At Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, we understand that our people drive our achievements. An outstanding remuneration and wellbeing package is provided in line with Australian benchmarks:

• Competitive Remuneration: AU$82,000 – AU$96,000 per year + standard Australian Superannuation (11.5%).
• Salary $82,000 – $96,000 + 11.5% super + not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900.
• No overnight shift work; standard daytime and early evening shifts.

• Leave Entitlements: 4 weeks annual leave (with 17.5% annual leave loading where applicable) plus 10 days paid personal/carer’s leave.
