Job Overview & Context

TriCare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join their established residential aged care team in a permanent part-time capacity at the Bundaberg Nursing Centre in Bundaberg, QLD. Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide clinical expertise to residents and leadership to a team of personal care staff.
  • Provide a high standard of comprehensive nursing and personal care.
  • Provide a warm, caring atmosphere for residents, family, friends, and colleagues.
  • Promote a culture of service orientation that improves the lifestyle of residents.
  • Direct all staff on duty to ensure work output is completed in a high quality, caring fashion.
  • Develop and apply a holistic and homelike philosophy of care for residents.
  • Monitor the performance of individual team members and provide on-the-job assistance where necessary.
  • Account to the Facility Manager and Clinical Care Manager for all clinical and work practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Must hold a current police certificate prior to commencement.
  • Must have the legal right to live and work in Australia with no restrictions (sponsorship is not provided).
  • Qualifications and/or experience in aged care, post-basic qualifications in gerontology nursing, or experience in the field will be highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with ACFI and clinical care documentation processes is advantageous.

Skills & Competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to embrace a philosophy of resident care that promotes dignity, independence, and advocacy.
  • Quick learner with the ability to work as part of a coordinated team and independently with a large amount of autonomy.
  • Sound computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Ability to adapt well to new clinical situations and demands.
  • Flexible approach to working hours when required.
